Summertime... sweet summertime
.
I'm not going to lie, it's not my most favorite time of year
.
There aren't any lights to string on the tree or apple cider to sip on
.
So... here lies a lull
.
I kind of feel stuck in and MEH phase
.
(kind of like waiting for the air conditioning to kick on while your standing there suffocating in the still heavy humidity)
.
Then one morning, just a normal morning
.
Rushing around to get my kids to daycare
.
Lugging my extra stuffed bag into my car
.
As usual spilling a little bit of coffee on my shirt
.
My 2 year old daughter was following me
.
She was shuffling along. Piddling around just like every morning.
.
I turned around and she was gone
.
Â
Looking over both of my shoulders frantically
.
I spotted her.Â
.
She was bent over in a patch of tulips
.
Up popped her head and she jerked her arm up to her ear
.
She had plucked a tulip and the biggest joyful grin came across her face
.
"FLOWEY"
.
She showed me proudly, loving her pretty treasure as I buckled her into her car seat.Â
.
"flowey. Hi flowey. Flowey"
.
The purest form of adorable that exists was hitting me amidst my mundane morning
.
I loved every single second of that flower picking moment
.
Â
Â
A few nights later
.
I was dreading bed time
.
My 2 year old had been pushing my limits once again
.
Throwing fits, being stubborn, and leaving me feeling drained
.
Night after night
.
I had no reason to believe tonight would be any different
.
As we passed a window on the way into her room
.
She stoppedÂ
.
Admiring a beautiful magnolia tree in full bloom
.
"Goodnight Floweys"
.
"I love you Floweys."
.
There I wentÂ
.
Melting into a puddle on the ground
.
Right then and there
.
Thinking to myself
.
"I love floweys too"
Â

Â
Here is my entire inspiration for this collection. Brought to you by my beautiful daughter, Esther and her love for "Floweys"Â
Â
It's my pleasure as always to paint exactly this for you.
Until next time,
